It all started with a single T-shirt.

Back when he was working behind the scenes for bands, Ryota Kinoshita was so busy he couldn’t find the time to grab a drink. His yearning to "just have a beer!" was so pure that he turned it into a T-shirt and handed them out to his friends, and to his surprise, it was a massive hit. In 2017, the apparel brand <CLUB SAKENOMITAI> was born.

However, the true dream that Ryota-san had held since he was 18 was "to own his own shop." That dream came to fruition in 2022 when he opened the restaurant <KINOSHITA>, known for serving ANTELOPE mead.

It is a place with a unique atmosphere—"a spot where anyone can feel free to drop by, yet the level of service is top-notch; it’s wild, but cool."

What form does "love" take for Ryota-san?

Bringing "that house" where friends gathered, right into the shop

"I love the simple relationship where I can directly feel the customers' joy when they say 'this is delicious'." There is a scene that Ryota-san looks back on as the starting point for his work.

It was during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people couldn't go out to drink anywhere. His friends would gather at Ryota-san's house almost every day to share their dreams.

"This shop exists because of the bond we forged while speaking heart-to-heart back then. It’s as if I brought that house here, just as it was."

The warm times once felt at home are now recreated in his shop. Seeing his friends spend happy moments there, and watching new customers join the circle—witnessing that scene is the moment he feels "love" in his work.

"Never be lame." The rule of love etched in the Eternal Home

"If there is no love, nothing can begin." Ryota-san values deepening relationships over time above all else. He has one simple rule.

It is to "never be lame." "Since we deal with products like mead that aren't widely known yet, it would be lame if we couldn't explain their appeal." He maintains respect for the creators, never loses his sense of curiosity, and always keeps things as cool as possible. That is his "love for the work."

That love resides in every corner of the shop: from the custom-made single-slab table and the dried-flower lights made by a friend, to the refrigerator moved from his old house, still covered in stickers full of memories.

Ryota-san continues to pour his passion into delivering the best moments to his friends and customers. He reflects on his own form of love this way:

"Quitting takes an instant, but continuing is for a lifetime. To keep this shop running forever—long enough that someone will continue it even after I’m gone. That is what love is to me."

In fact, the house where his friends once gathered was named "Casa Eterna." In Italian, it means "Eternal Home." The name he gave it, without realizing it at the time, aligns with his belief that love is continuity. The future of KINOSHITA will continue on, together with the friends he loves.
