KURUTO opened in Minami-Horie, Osaka, in August 2025. It is a warm shop where every staff member "only recommends things they truly love." Yamamoto-san, who welcomed us, is bright and has a very natural way of engaging with people.

The encounter: The atmosphere of a moment at a tasting event
The encounter with mead happened at a tasting event in Osaka.
"It was a drink I didn't know, yet it was so easy to drink. Plus, ANTELOPE's booth just seemed like the most fun one there (laughs)."
That "positive vibe" was the deciding factor in bringing the product in.
Arrival day: It felt just right the moment it was on the shelf
Yamamoto-san says that when she lined the mead up on KURUTO's wooden shelves, it fit in surprisingly well.
"I was sure it would sell. But the rest of the staff seemed anxious (laughs). I, however, was confident."
In practice, it sparked conversations with customers in front of the shelves and led staff to recommend it to each other, creating an unexpected "positive flow."
The love of "being on the same level" that Yamamoto-san cherishes
The form of love Yamamoto-san speaks of is very simple.
"A relationship where one person has to force it is unnatural. I think the most natural love is born when we can stand on the same level."
This applies to customer service as well.
She places neither the customer nor the maker above the other. She simply shares what she loves while being on the "same level." That attitude is what shapes the comfort of KURUTO.
Conclusion
Unpretentious, not pushy, just "a place where you can say you love what you love."
The comfort of KURUTO exists because Yamamoto-san’s natural and effortless way of loving quietly spreads throughout the entire shop.
