"Pour" means to pour. That is exactly what we did.

It was exactly two years ago that we made "Miyamoto," a mead using blood oranges. We were looking for a producer of blood oranges—a fruit still unfamiliar in Japan—when we met Mr. Miyamoto. At ANTELOPE, we have had the privilege of using not only his blood oranges but also Kawachi Bankan, lemons, and navel oranges.

Every citrus fruit Mr. Miyamoto grows is the "real deal." It is the exact opposite of what rappers might call "fake." Beyond their beautiful appearance, they possess a depth of flavor that goes beyond simple sweetness.

For this release, we have reinterpreted the blood orange mead that first led us to Mr. Miyamoto. There are actually two types of blood oranges: "Moro" and "Tarocco." The Tarocco has less redness but a good balance of sweetness and acidity, making it perfect for eating as is.

The Moro, on the other hand, is deep red with a unique aroma, giving it a more sophisticated impression. While we used both in our first year, this time we used 100% "Moro" for its vibrant red color and intense fragrance.

Usually, long-term storage mellows the acidity and enhances the sweetness, but we specifically chose earlier-harvested fruit to ensure the acidity remains prominent.

We envisioned a drink that captures the essence of this year's fresh-picked blood oranges, aiming for a naturally flavorful, lightly sparkling finish similar to a pétillant wine.

Pouring love. Pouring passion. Pouring time.
Pour is what we created by pouring in so much of everything.

Just like the view from the citrus orchards in Uwajima, it's perfect for taking outdoors for a picnic on a sunny day.
Please enjoy it with friends, pouring your feelings into each other's glasses.

〈Tasting Note〉
The aroma of the "Moro" blood orange blends beautifully with wild, earthy notes, resulting in a finish that is dry yet full-bodied with firm acidity, natural and fresh. We used a yeast that produces high levels of glycerol to ensure a strong, lingering body. At the same time, it produced a wealth of esters, giving it a slight alcoholic warmth and an inky nuance. With the acidity derived from the blood oranges coming through clearly, it has become a fresh and casual mead.

〈to be continued〉
In fact, we are planning to release another blood orange mead in December. If "Pour" is a mead with a fresh image, the next one is a mead imagined for its rich, profound depth. We used Mr. Miyamoto's blood oranges from last year and brewed it using "only honey and fruit juice." While we typically dilute honey with water, we took the bold step of fermenting it using only the fruit juice. After over a year of barrel aging, I am certain we have created the most profound mead yet. We hope you enjoy the contrast with this "Pour."
