The team from "KINOSHITA" helped us out on ANTELOPE's very first day of brewing. Ever since that day, we’ve had the pleasure of crafting original meads for them.
We have continued to produce a pink grapefruit and chili pepper mead with the specific condition that it pairs perfectly with the tacos served at their shop.
We’ve finally been able to create the next series in this lineup.
It’s called the "KINOSHITA Orange Label".
We used seasonal navel oranges from Wakayama Prefecture and a subtle touch of cardamom to add a green aromatic layer. By keeping the alcohol content low and retaining a juicy balance of acidity and sweetness, it’s a drink that even those who aren't fond of alcohol can enjoy glass after glass alongside their tacos.
From the initial aroma to the mid-notes, the scent of orange combines with the yeast to evoke peach, while notes of orange and a hint of spice linger on the finish.
Enjoy it well-chilled.
Because the alcohol content is low, you can also add a splash of tequila to mimic a Tequila Sunrise. Serve over ice and enjoy.
〈Nagoya to Yasu〉
Before I reminisce about our first collaboration with the KINOSHITA team, I think back to ANTELOPE's first day of production. It was a hot day—a midsummer day in 2021. I’ll never forget how everyone from KINOSHITA came all the way from Nagoya to help us brew our first batch, a mead that would later be named after the local area, "Giou".
A few months later, we teamed up for our first collaboration with the goal of creating "a mead that pairs perfectly with the tacos served at their shop."
Thinking about cocktails, I wanted to draw inspiration from Mexico, the birthplace of tacos. That’s how we arrived at the Paloma, a cocktail featuring grapefruit.
Three years later, we are ready to release the 2nd batch.
〈Tasting Note〉
Dominant notes of white peach, plum, and a floral bouquet. The sweetness and acidity evoke juicy orange juice. It also works beautifully served in a large glass with ice and a splash of your favorite tequila.
