＜Product Description＞

This mead is made with an abundance of blueberries from Lakes Farm in Yasu, Shiga Prefecture, where they grow rice, vegetables, and fruits using organic farming methods.

Wishing to highlight the quality of the blueberries lovingly cultivated by Kumiko Tsuji of Lakes Farm, we opted for a natural fermentation process.

It has a smooth red hue, with legs that run down the glass just slightly shorter than usual. It features a strong oak aroma, with the scent of blueberries and honey wafting through the nose. It's a fine style that feels familiar, yet is actually quite rare.

For the '23 harvest, we deliberately picked Kumiko-san's blueberries early, aiming for a profile that allows the acidity to shine. Thanks to the large quantity of blueberries used and the fact that the temperatures remained slightly high, the fermentation proceeded very smoothly.

I was inspired by the thought, "It would be so much fun to pick blueberries with everyone and then hold a tasting party in the field once the mead is finished!" so these berries were hand-picked by a group of volunteers.
