Poire Shock / Japanese Pear and Japanese Tea Mead
＜Product Description＞
A mead crafted to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of "THE MUSEN IN SHOCK," a fantastic standing bar in Shinsaibashi, Osaka. While we have used apples in the past, this year we used Japanese pears.
This is a poiré made with Japanese pears from Shiga Prefecture and oolong tea from Kagoshima that has undergone a withering process using oxidative enzymes. Although poiré is typically low in alcohol, we blended it with honey to increase the alcohol content. We selected this specific oolong tea in collaboration with Chawari in Tokyo to help accentuate the pear's aroma.
The gap between its fragrance and taste reminds me of the first time I visited MUSEN. Perfect for a toast.
